Family Picnic with Infants

Mt. Shasta Maternal Child Services Campaign

Mercy Medical Center Mount Shasta is one of two rural family birth centers in Siskiyou County, and therefore, has the privilege of welcoming a majority of our newest neighbors. We welcome 150 new faces into the region annually. This miraculous honor comes with quite the responsibility. Maintaining a well equipped and modern birth center in our small community can be a real challenge.

And though we made similar upgrades in the distant past, our family birth center is persistent in its efforts to provide excellent, patient-centered care using current and state-of-the-art technology.

Currently, our fetal heart monitors are aging and need to be replaced with brand-new technology, and our infant security system will benefit from the advanced features that the latest technology provides.

Together, we want to enhance our Birth Center to further improve health outcomes and patient experiences for our tiniest patients and their families.

Recently, the following needs have become critical priorities:

  • Updated fetal heart monitors
  • Upgraded infant security system
  • New bariatric labor and delivery bed
  • Overall department improvements

Mercy Foundation North has the honor of being tasked with raising $250,000+ toward this $600,000 project. By raising capital for this project, our community will ensure that our littlest patients join us in the most secure way possible. We hope to have this project completed by the Fall of 2026 and are looking forward to positive changes to come. We certainly could not work to achieve our goal without the generosity and involvement of our local and surrounding communities.

We are eager to answer any questions you may have about the work that our donors make possible.
